Reviews
Our family have been regulars at the YMCA, and our overall experience has been fantastic. My wife and I are fans of the yoga classes, and our son eagerly looks forward to the Kidzone activities. What inspired me to share this review was the awesome response I received after providing online feedback regarding a recent update. Dawn and her team promptly reached out via email and followed up with a thoughtful phone call, ensuring that my concerns were heard. I highly recommend this location to anyone seeking a positive and responsive community environment.
Overall good YMCA but the courts are so dusty, I have injured myself multiple times playing basketball (wearing correct attire for basketball). Very annoying but the people and staff are mostly nice and down to earth, other than the courts I would give the gym a 4.5 but the courts are a 2 star.
We visit this Y location on the regular, me and my kids. However, I regularly receive unfriendly interactions from the members here. Especially, on the track. I am of a multicultural nationality, and I look different from most people there. But on the track, the members young and old, will not share the track with me. I am very aware of this disparity and make sure to be kind to everyone. But the members do not seem to follow the YMCA's mission to be kind in turn. I love that this gym has a variety of equipment, but they definitely lack diversity in their members. The saddest part is that I am not the only one that notices this difference, my kids notice it too. I do very much like the facilities crew though. They are extremely friendly to my entire family!
The only bad thing is the cramped space of the free weight area. When college/high school aged students are home, it gets way too crowded. Otherwise, it’s a great facility.
Excellent facility, beautiful, clean and well arranged. Friendly staff. We visited from out of state and enjoyed our experience. It is a busy Y and full, but never had to wait for any equipment.
I mainly joined the Y for the water aerobics. I live less than 5 minutes away from this branch (Kraft), unfortunately they have outdoor pool only and offer only 3 classes a week at the 7:00am, 7:45 pm, 8am. None are working for me.
So, I’m forced to travel to A.E Finally in Raleigh about 40 minutes drive in a good day where they offer 10 classes a week at different hours the earliest is at 9am.
So far no one from Kraft responded to my messages/requests on their website.
This is so disappointing, and such a shame.
Great establishment, great amenities, all the things, but could be a lot larger for the amounts of people. Population is growing very fast.
Although the updated equipment is nice and was long overdue, it doesn’t save from the fact that this location is grossly overcrowded. As the area continues to grow in population, YMCA either needs to add an addition to this location or build a new overflow location nearby. The only time this gym is remotely tolerable is during very off hours, like right before closing. Also, staff does nothing to keep people off the track. It feels perilous to walk/run around as people are constantly falling into it from the boxing area or sitting around the edges stretching out their legs.
